Antonelli: The task is to raise the bar higher and higher.

On Saturday at Silverstone, Kimi Antonelli won the sprint for the first time, adding this achievement to his five Grand Prix victories. No one could match the Italian Mercedes driver’s speed over these 17 laps.

Kimi Antonelli (1st): “The first ten laps, when Lewis Hamilton and I were battling, were very interesting and fun! We both attacked with full force. When I was able to use the overtake mode, I already knew that this was my chance to get ahead.

I almost managed it at the exit of Turn 4, and as I entered Brooklands, I was already level with Lewis's Ferrari, but he activated the Boost mode, so I decided to wait. But before the Stowe corner, I used all the resources I had, after which I was able to make the overtake.

From that moment on, I just tried to maintain the rhythm, aimed to pull away from Lewis so he couldn't use the overtake mode, and then it was about getting to the finish. We set a decent pace, and as a team, we are doing very well, but we can't afford to relax.

Lewis and Ferrari are also working incredibly well, Red Bull and McLaren are getting faster, but my teammate, George Russell, is showing excellent speed too. So the task is to keep raising the bar higher and continue to deliver strong results.”
