Verstappen claims that Lego portrays F1 drivers as 'clowns'.

"I enjoy playing at home with Lego alongside the kids."

Max Verstappen has increased his criticism of Formula 1's new Lego drivers’ parade, expressing concern that it could make the sport's stars "appear like children or clowns." The four-time world champion had previously raised doubts about the event, and Lewis Hamilton hinted he might not participate at all. "I prefer to play at home with Lego - with the children," Verstappen stated to Viaplay. "Not in some sort of go-kart here, to be honest. I’d rather be on the back of a truck with everyone. I think that's more enjoyable and seems more professional." His comments come amid discussions in the paddock that some top drivers are becoming irritated by the growing number of promotional events associated with their Formula 1 responsibilities. "Ultimately, we are Formula 1 drivers," Verstappen added. "I don't believe we should come across as kids or clowns, attempting to crash into each other. I don’t think this is what Formula 1 needs, but that's the situation." He mentioned that he would simply meet his obligations on Sunday. "I just drive my own lap and wave to the fans because they deserve to see us, but personally, I would have preferred it to happen differently." Verstappen’s comments align with those of his manager, Raymond Vermeulen, who recently told the Dutch magazine Formule 1 that "Verstappen is not a clown" and should not be involved in "strange activities."
