Formula 1 anticipates making a decision before the summer break regarding the possibility of reinstating any of the grand prix events that were canceled earlier this season. The schedule has been unstable since the conflict in the Middle East led to the cancellation of the initial Gulf races, with ongoing rumors suggesting that Bahrain might return later in the year. Additionally, other venues like Portimao have been mentioned as potential replacements if more races are canceled.

F1 CEO Stefano Domenicali stated that a final decision cannot be postponed for much longer. "If we have the chance to announce a race that has not yet taken place, we will do so at the right moment. We sincerely hope for that," he told Sky Italia. "If the conditions are favorable and we adhere to our plan, then why not? But we need to make a decision prior to the summer break."

Domenicali also mentioned that Formula 1 is still planning for the season to finish as planned in Qatar and Abu Dhabi. "Our role is to ensure that the races occur as per the announced schedule," he said. "We’re keeping a close watch on the situation, as holding these races would send an extraordinarily positive message not just for the sport but also for politics, and we’re pursuing that path. If the races proceed, we’ll be able to say that these issues are behind us."

Team leaders at Silverstone acknowledged that the ongoing uncertainty creates logistical challenges but voiced confidence that Formula 1 and the FIA will find the best resolution. "Ultimately, I believe Stefano and the FIA will navigate the calendar, so we’ll participate in the races they indicate, and we’re happy to do that," said McLaren CEO Zak Brown.

Ferrari team principal Frederic Vasseur added, "Honestly, I think we’re all in the same situation, including teams, FOM, and FIA. We all want to attend races and compete more, but it is what it is. We have great trust in the FIA and FOM regarding the calendar. They are making considerable efforts to find solutions, and I genuinely believe they are doing their utmost."

Alpine’s Steve Nielsen concurred. "I’m confident they have a multitude of calendar versions ready and will choose the one that aligns with global events."
