Sainz implies that the Williams wind tunnel is not performing effectively.

"We're attempting to make this front wing effective."

Carlos Sainz has once again pointed out the stagnating progress of Williams, suggesting that the team’s wind tunnel may not accurately represent the advancements made at the factory. The Spaniard, who has frequently expressed worries about the team’s lack of competitiveness amid increasing speculation regarding his future, mentioned that a new front wing introduced at Silverstone has not delivered the anticipated improvements. "We’re testing various aspects, trying to make this front wing functional, but it’s evident that something isn’t working within the team - specifically in the wind tunnel," Sainz told DAZN. "We’re not discovering any enhancements that bring us closer to the Racing Bulls, who are seven or eight tenths of a second ahead. We’re quite far behind, and we need to figure out how we can improve." In addition to pointing out issues with the wind tunnel, Sainz suggested that Williams simply lacks an understanding of how to navigate the entirely new F1 regulations. "What has changed is the regulations, and the method of finding aerodynamic points is different from last year," he stated. "It’s evident that we don’t fully grasp these aerodynamics and these regulations, as we aren’t improving at the same rate as others. We also started with a poorer base (car), as was the situation at the outset of the season. Therefore, we need to start reflecting, return to the factory, and examine what we are doing that isn’t enhancing the situation."
