      The Pirelli company began a new two-day test of prototypes for the 2027 tires today in Silverstone. The cars and drivers this time were provided by Mercedes and Williams. The work focused on the slick tire design ahead of the homologation scheduled for September 1. In the morning, George Russell and Carlos Sainz tested different slick tire options, while in the afternoon they checked several promising solutions over long distances. Russell completed 113 laps (665 km) with a best time of 1:30.695. Sainz completed 61 laps (359 km) with a best time of 1:33.576. Due to car issues, Sainz was unable to complete his work in the afternoon. The tests will continue tomorrow – Kimi Antonelli will take the wheel of the Mercedes, while Alex Albon will continue the tests for Williams.
