Ferrari is preparing an engine update for the Spanish Grand Prix.
After Charles Leclerc's victory in Silverstone, a celebration was held at Ferrari's base in Maranello for all team employees. The Italian publication Auto Racer managed to find out that the team's technical director Loic Serra and chief engine designer Enrico Gualtieri spoke to the employees about the plans for upgrading the car.
Loic Serra emphasized that the path chosen by Ferrari for the modernization of the SF-26 has proven to be correct, and the work done is bearing fruit. The team does not intend to rest on its laurels, and the car will regularly receive updates in the upcoming races.
As for the power unit, Enrico Gualtieri discussed the progress of the engine upgrade work as part of the ADUO program. Major updates are expected to be presented in Madrid at the Spanish Grand Prix, which will take place from September 11 to 13.
In particular, a new turbocharger and other improvements aimed at increasing the overall efficiency of the power unit are anticipated.
At the same time, work is underway on the engine for the 2027 season. It is reported that bench testing of the new power unit has already begun.
