"There is still no confirmation on that, but it’s a possibility."

Bahrain remains optimistic that its canceled 2026 Formula 1 grand prix could still be reinstated, despite the resurgence of conflict in the Gulf region. Formula 1 has stated that a decision regarding the restoration of any canceled races must be made prior to the summer break, and Bahrain is widely viewed as the prime candidate for a comeback. Noor bint Ali Alkhulaif, Bahrain’s Minister of Sustainable Development, has confirmed that discussions are ongoing. "There are talks about possibly reintegrating some of the canceled races into the calendar," she informed Reuters. "There is still no confirmation on that, but it’s a possibility." These remarks come amid renewed tensions involving Iran, which have once again raised concerns about regional stability, with reports over the weekend of missile and drone strikes across several Gulf states, including Bahrain. Despite the worsening security landscape, Formula 1 sources continue to point to the weekend of October 3-4 as the most likely timeframe for the reinstatement of the Bahrain GP.
