The British police are searching for the stolen Verstappen helmets.

      A rare British Grand Prix takes place without various incidents not directly related to motorsport. For example, one can recall that in 2022, due to an activist action by the Just Stop Oil movement, the restart of the race in Silverstone had to be postponed for almost an hour – later, six people were sentenced to probation or community service.

      Last year, some public order violators, despite all prohibitions, climbed into the cockpits of old Jordan cars at an exhibition dedicated to the history of this team and broke something there. Additionally, at that time, a steering wheel from the Leyton House CG901, a car from 1990, was stolen.

      After the recent race weekend in Silverstone, the local police also had more concerns: they are searching for the criminals who stole two racing helmets belonging to Max Verstappen. To be precise, these were life-sized replicas of his helmets, but they are also quite valuable.

      They were stolen from a van belonging to the StemX organization, which is supported by Red Bull and is engaged in a good cause: it organized a mobile class traveling to schools across the UK, providing children from low-income families with the opportunity to gain specialized knowledge in the sciences that are in demand in the motorsport sector. The goal of the project is to find young talents and inspire them to pursue specialized education, which will open the door to Formula 1 in the future.

      The stolen helmets were made specifically for StemX, and Calum Nicholas, one of the former employees of Red Bull Racing who worked as a mechanic in Max Verstappen's team for many years, reached out to the public through social media, urging them to help find the criminals.

      Moreover, he directly addressed the thieves: “Thieves who stole the helmets from the StemX van – realize that you took them from schoolchildren who were supposed to learn through our program this summer, and it is impossible to quickly replace such helmets.

      Keep in mind, the entire incident was recorded by surveillance cameras, so time is working against you – maybe you will realize that it’s better to return the helmets.”

      There is currently no information on how successfully the search for the criminals and the stolen helmets is progressing.
