Currently, eBay Motors is offering a “no car listing fee” promotion that lasts until the end of the month. If you’re considering selling a vehicle, this could be a great opportunity.

While I haven’t purchased an entire car on eBay, I have bought and sold various other items. It feels safer and more legitimate compared to Facebook Marketplace. Having the protections for buyers and sellers from eBay Motors is reassuring, especially when you're dealing with used cars that are worth more than a few thousand dollars. You can find more information about eBay Motors’ Secure Purchase protections here.

The primary drawback of selling on eBay is its high fee structure. However, eBay Motors doesn’t impose a “final value fee” on car sellers like it does for other items. Typically, it costs about $34 to list a car priced under $15,000 or $79 for cars over that price. But, until the end of the month, you can list your vehicle for free.

Here is the link to eBay’s car listing promotion page.

A note of caution: There are still a few specific situations where you might incur a fee:

Deposit Processing Fee: If you ask the buyer to make a deposit through eBay’s checkout to secure the vehicle (which is quite common), eBay takes a 2.8% processing fee on the deposit. For instance, if a $500 deposit is required, eBay will deduct $14.00, leaving you with $486.00.

Optional Upgrades: The promotion only applies to the standard listing fee. If you opt for premium upgrades beyond the standard 40-photo listing package or have standard Store subscription fees, those are not included in the promotion.

Here are the complete details of the official terms and conditions straight from eBay:

      How to redeem your promotion:

A 100% discount is available when you list an item in the Cars & Trucks, Motorcycles, Powersports, Boats, and Other Vehicles & Trailers categories.

Start your listing, and the displayed fee will be waived before you post your item.

The maximum discount is $79 per listing and applies solely to the listing fee. Subscription fees are not eligible for this discount.

This offer is valid for all registered eBay users using the Sell Your Item flow. Third-party tools or other tools are not eligible.

The promotion can be utilized for unlimited listings during the promotional period.

Available only to users registered in the United States.

      Additional Terms & Conditions:

The promotion offers a 100% discount on the listing price for eligible items in the Cars & Trucks, Motorcycles, Powersports, Boats, and Other Vehicles & Trailers categories, with a maximum discount of $79 per listing. This promotion can be applied to unlimited listings per eBay account.

Eligible items on eBay.com come from the Cars & Trucks, Motorcycles, Powersports, Boats, and Other Vehicles & Trailers categories. The promotion can be used without limit for eBay accounts until 11:59 PM Pacific Time on July 31, 2026, or while supplies last. Redemption of the promotion depends on availability and may be revoked at any time without notice at eBay’s discretion. Only eBay members with a registered shipping address in the specified countries can benefit from the promotion. Transferring to eBay users or listings with registered addresses outside of these countries will be considered a violation of these terms. The discount applies only to the listing fee (excluding shipping, handling, and taxes) for eligible items listed on eBay.com. Any unused portion of the discount within a single transaction will be lost.

The promotion is subject to U.S. laws, void where prohibited, is not redeemable for cash, holds no face value, and cannot be combined with any other coupons, gift cards, or gift certificates. eBay reserves the right to cancel, amend, or revoke the coupon at any time.
