Red Bull rejects bid from Racing Bulls backed by Abu Dhabi.
The initiative was spearheaded by US-based investor Dean Attew.
Red Bull has reportedly turned down an offer that reached as high as $3 billion for its second Formula 1 team, Racing Bulls. "Red Bull rejects $3bn Abu Dhabi-backed proposal for Racing Bulls F1 team," The Times stated. As per the British newspaper, the initiative was led by US investor Dean Attew and financier Andrew Herriot, receiving support from various investment funds based in Abu Dhabi. Attew has previously been identified as a former adviser to ex-Formula 1 chief Bernie Ecclestone and was involved in discussions regarding the commercial ownership of the sport prior to Liberty Media's acquisition of Formula 1 in 2016. Nonetheless, both Red Bull and the alleged bidders have not publicly acknowledged the approach, leaving the details of the proposed deal and its rejection unverified. Racing Bulls plays a vital role in Red Bull's unique two-team structure, enabling young drivers to gain Formula 1 experience before possibly moving up to the senior team. Max Verstappen and current Red Bull driver Isack Hadjar both progressed through the Faenza-based operation, while Liam Lawson and Arvid Lindblad are set to form Racing Bulls’ 2026 lineup. This latest news follows earlier reports that Red Bull had previously dismissed offers valuing the team at approximately $2 billion to $2.3 billion.
