Red Bull rejects the Racing Bulls offer backed by Abu Dhabi.
The initiative was spearheaded by US investor Dean Attew.
Red Bull has reportedly turned down an offer that could reach $3 billion for its second Formula 1 team, Racing Bulls. "Red Bull rejects $3bn Abu Dhabi-backed proposal for Racing Bulls F1 team," stated The Times.
As per the British newspaper, the bid was led by Dean Attew and financier Andrew Herriot, supported by multiple investment funds from Abu Dhabi. Attew has previously been noted as a former adviser to ex-Formula 1 chief Bernie Ecclestone and was part of discussions concerning the commercial ownership of the sport prior to Liberty Media's acquisition of Formula 1 in 2016.
However, neither Red Bull nor the prospective bidders have publicly acknowledged the proposal, leaving the suggested deal and its denial unverified. Racing Bulls plays a crucial role in Red Bull’s unique two-team arrangement, enabling young drivers to gain experience in Formula 1 before possibly moving up to the main team.
Max Verstappen and current Red Bull driver Isack Hadjar have both come through the Faenza-based team, while Liam Lawson and Arvid Lindblad are set to be part of Racing Bulls’ lineup for 2026. This latest report follows earlier assertions that Red Bull had already dismissed offers valuing the team between $2 billion and $2.3 billion.
