Sainz suggests that he may remain with Williams despite speculation about Audi.

"I am aware that nothing will change in Hungary."

Carlos Sainz has clearly indicated his intention to continue with Williams in 2027, despite facing months of criticism regarding the current car and ongoing speculation about Audi. The Spaniard has repeatedly acknowledged that Williams has not succeeded with its 2026 project, and he has doubts that the lighter ’B’ chassis set to arrive in Baku will make a significant difference.

When asked by Spanish reporters if the upcoming summer break might lead him to consider another team, Sainz was firm in his response. "No, I know that nothing will change in Hungary," he stated at Spa. "Clearly, knowing that nothing will change there, the only thing that might slightly alter the situation for the rest of the year is Baku, though I don't believe it will change our lives either."

"Honestly, the only thing I can focus on is the car for next year and how it’s being developed at the factory." Sainz then reiterated his commitment to the Grove-based team. "What I’m doing 100 percent is developing this car," he remarked. "I’m fully dedicated to assisting the team in changing direction, and they are aware that my priority is to help and remain at Williams."

These remarks mark a significant change following Sainz’s increasingly forthright critiques of Williams’ lack of development and renewed rumors about Audi potentially seeking to sign him for 2027. However, Sainz mentioned that his performances have been somewhat overshadowed by Williams’ lack of competitiveness this season. "Ultimately, I know I’m maximizing the car I have this year," he told DAZN. "I’m doing everything possible with what I have. I have very good race pace this year compared to the drivers I can measure myself against, and it’s unfortunate I can’t shine a bit more, as I’ve had a strong year in terms of personal performance. But it’s disappointing that there isn’t a better car. I hope it arrives soon."
