Vesti will replace Antonelli in the first training session in Hungary.

      The leader of the personal standings, Kimi Antonelli, will not participate in the first session of free practice for the Hungarian Grand Prix. He will be replaced at the wheel of the Mercedes W17 by Frederik Vesti, who will be making his second appearance in the Friday practice this season. The Danish driver previously substituted for Antonelli at the Barcelona stage.

      Frederik Vesti: "The Hungarian Grand Prix always holds a special place on the calendar, as it is the last race before the summer break. All teams will try to finish the first half of the season with a strong result and maintain that momentum before the pause.

      In some ways, the Hungaroring is similar to Monaco, as there are no energy consumption restrictions on this track. A fairly traditional approach is used for both the power unit setup and aerodynamics. Teams choose the maximum level of downforce and can use full engine power for almost the entire lap. For drivers, this makes the track particularly interesting.

      It is usually very hot in Hungary, which adds to the challenges. There are many tasks to solve on the track, and with numerous corners throughout the lap, there is almost no opportunity to catch your breath – you constantly have to drive at the limit.

      Additionally, this weekend I will participate in the first practice, and I look forward to the opportunity to get back behind the wheel of the W17 and continue getting to know the car. This is a great opportunity, and I intend to make the most of it."
