Hamilton: I'm not sure we needed that pit stop.

      The best result in Hungary was brought by Ferrari's Charles Leclerc, finishing fourth. Lewis Hamilton was ahead of his teammate throughout the race and fought for the podium, but a five-second penalty for speeding in the pit lane dropped him to fifth place in the standings...

      Charles Leclerc (4th): "I lost a few positions at the start, and on this track, where it's so difficult to overtake, I couldn't make up that deficit. The main issue was grip on the asphalt. These new cars are extremely sensitive to the slightest changes; even tires of the same compound can behave differently during a race stint. On Friday, we were competitive, but our rivals weren't showing their full strength, and after qualifying, it became clear that we would have a tougher time than initially thought. We showed very good results on tracks where we didn't expect high performance and didn't achieve our goals on tracks where we expected to be strong. The whole team – in Maranello and on the track – did an amazing job preparing updates, which allowed us to make significant progress and maintain competitiveness, including winning two races. Now we need to recharge, analyze everything, and come back to the fight in even better shape."

      Lewis Hamilton (5th): "I'm not entirely sure we needed that extra pit stop at the end of the race. But when I was called into the pits, I was right in front of the pit lane entrance, I didn't have time to think, and I trusted the decision made by the team. In fact, at that moment, my tires were fine. I probably would have lost the position to Max, but I could have definitely held at least third place. That pit stop led to the penalty that dropped me to fifth place."
