Mekis: After the break, we will perform even better.
After the finish of the Hungarian Grand Prix, Red Bull Racing team principal Laurent Mekies summarized the weekend and the first half of the season...
Laurent Mekies: "The race in Hungary ended successfully. Max, Isaac, and the whole team did an excellent job. At the beginning of the weekend, we didn't show that pace; the drivers had difficulties with the setups, but our staff at the track and back at the base did everything possible, and as a result, the car's speed in the race turned out to be high enough to confidently compete with all opponents except Lando.
There were several key moments in the race – Max overtaking Lewis, strategic decisions, or pit stops – everything was done correctly. Max performed very well again, and Isaac had an impressive race, securing his seventh consecutive finish in the top six. He continues to show remarkable consistency and fully deserves these results.
This is a great result to conclude the first half of the season. Now the team has the opportunity to rest and recharge before continuing the fight. After the break, we hope to perform even better.
The first half of the season resembled a rollercoaster, but now we are moving in the right direction thanks to the hard work and dedication of all the staff at the base. In the last four races, we significantly reduced the gap to the leaders and consistently fought for podium places.
Everyone in Milton Keynes is making tremendous efforts to take the next step towards competing for wins, and we look forward to the opportunity to battle our rivals in the second half of the season."
