Hungarian Grand Prix: Curious Statistics

      Qualification

      By winning the qualification at the Hungaroring, Lando Norris secured his first pole of the season, second in Hungary, and 17th in his career. Jackie Stewart also had 17 poles in his career.

      For McLaren, this is the first pole of the season, the 10th at the Hungaroring, and the 178th in history. This is the first pole of the season achieved by a driver other than Mercedes.

      Qualifying second, Lewis Hamilton repeated his best result of the season for the second time (after Barcelona).

      Charles Leclerc qualified third for the second time this season, but after Hamilton's penalty, he started in second place. This is his third front-row start of the season and 46th in his career. After the first part of the season, Ferrari has nearly equal qualifications – 6:5 in favor of Leclerc.

      Kimi Antonelli's fourth place is the second repetition of his worst qualifying result of the season (after Austria).

      Seventh place is George Russell's worst result this year.

      Arvid Lindblad from Racing Bulls made it to the final qualification for the fourth consecutive time.

      Pierre Gasly from Alpine qualified 12th for the third weekend in a row.

      Fernando Alonso's 16th place is his best result of the season. For the first time this year, the Spaniard made it to the second part of the qualification.

      Carlos Sainz and Alex Albon in 18th and 19th place represent the worst result for Williams since the 2024 Dutch Grand Prix – the last race involving Logan Sargeant.

      Race

      By winning the Hungarian Grand Prix, Lando Norris achieved his first victory of the season and 12th in his career. He has the same number of victories as Mario Andretti, Carlos Reutemann, and Alan Jones. This is Norris's first victory as a world champion.

      For McLaren, this is the first victory of the season, the 14th at the Hungaroring, and the 204th in the team's history. The team surpassed the milestone of 8000 points in history.

      Finishing second, Max Verstappen reached the podium for the fourth time this season and 131st in his career. This is the 301st podium in the team's history – Red Bull Racing ranks fifth in this statistic. Williams is fourth (315 podiums).

      Third place brought Kimi Antonelli his 12th podium in his career. He has the same number of podiums as Robert Kubica and Stefan Johansson.

      Antonelli surpassed the milestone of 1500 kilometers led in his career.

      Antonelli finished the first half of the season with a 50-point lead over Lewis Hamilton (2nd in the standings) and 59 points over George Russell (3rd).

      For the third consecutive year, Charles Leclerc finished fourth at the Hungaroring.

      The Hungarian Grand Prix is the 12th race where Charles Leclerc set the fastest lap (and the first this season). He had not set the fastest laps at the Hungaroring before.

      Lewis Hamilton was classified fifth and extended his successful streak – this year he remains the only one to have completed the full distance of the past Grands Prix – 673 laps out of 673.

      For the fourth time in the last five Grands Prix, Isaac Hajar finished sixth.

      Finishing eighth, Liam Lawson scored points for the eighth time this season – this is already more scoring races than last year.

      Ninth place brought Nico Hülkenberg his first points of the season. Audi became the eighth team for which Nico earned points.

      Thirteenth place for Lance Stroll is his best result of the season. For the first time this year, the Canadian outperformed Alonso in the race.

      The last Grand Prix was the 200th in Stroll's career.

      Alex Albon finished his 100th Grand Prix with Williams in 17th place.

      Eighteenth place is Carlos Sainz's worst result this season.

      Nineteenth place is Oliver Berman's worst career result.

      Sergio Perez could not finish but drove enough laps to surpass the milestone of 16,000 laps completed in races. In this statistic, the Mexican ranks eighth overall. Leading this statistic and continuing to increase his lap count is Fernando Alonso – over 23,000 laps.

      For the second time this season, the race for the Cadillac team ended with a double retirement.
