Mercedes said goodbye to Gwen Lagree.

      We wrote about the fact that the head of the Mercedes youth program, Gwen Lagrue, is set to leave the team. Now it has officially happened.

      "Thank you, Gwen. It has been a wonderful joint adventure. Together we have prepared many young drivers, including George and Kimi, and you have made a fantastic contribution.

      We have created a true successor to the original Mercedes-Benz junior team, and you are leaving behind a talented group that will continue this work.

      Professional relationships may come to an end, but we will always remain friends with a shared outlook on things. We wish you success in your next challenge," the team's statement said.

      Gwen Lagrue will head the youth program at Red Bull Racing, which was previously led by Helmut Marko.
