The stewards warned Sergio Perez.
The stewards of the Hungarian Grand Prix warned Sergio Perez for violating the starting procedure. The Mexican Cadillac driver was supposed to start from the pit lane, but at the end of the formation lap, he found himself ahead of Valtteri Bottas at the SC1 line, thus violating paragraph B5.6.4 of the regulations. Perez explained that he was focused on getting to the traffic light at the pit lane exit as quickly as possible to complete the prescribed pit lane start procedure within the required timeframe. As a result, he did not notice that he had overtaken Bottas before crossing the SC1 line. In the race, both Cadillac drivers retired due to technical issues with the car.
