Dodge is eager to get you enthusiastic about the new Charger, despite its bumpy introduction.
On Tuesday, Dodge teased what appears to be the resurgence of the legendary Super Bee nameplate, with a reveal scheduled for Friday, August 7, 2026. This date precedes the automaker's 2026 Road Kill Night, which will feature a weekend filled with burnouts, drag racing, and more.
The teaser video lasts just 15 seconds and showcases a swarm of bees on a drag strip light tree, accompanied by their buzzing sounds, concluding with a song referencing "black and yellow."
The next chapter of Dodge muscle arrives on 8.7.26.
The teaser video above provides a clear indication of what Dodge intends to unveil on August 7.
Dodge stated alongside the teaser video that it pertains to the most powerful six-cylinder Charger. This refers to a Charger equipped with a stronger turbocharged inline-six Hurricane engine. The current Charger Scat Pack features a high-output Hurricane turbo-six delivering 550 horsepower and 531 lb-ft of torque.
Dodge has acknowledged that a more powerful Hurricane-equipped Charger is under development. In March, Dodge CEO Matt McLear mentioned to The Drive, “We’re going to continue to push the limits of this engine [the Hurricane I6] and see what it can achieve.”
The Super Bee is not the only Bee nameplate to make a comeback at Stellantis this year. In May, the 2027 Ram SRT Rumble Bee was introduced, featuring a 777-horsepower supercharged 6.2-liter V8 engine sourced from the Hellcat.
The new Charger Super Bee will certainly feature a six-cylinder engine rather than a Hemi V8, though a Hemi is expected to join the Charger lineup. Later in May, Stellantis unveiled an extensive turnaround plan that includes 60 new vehicles and 50 refreshes by 2030. A new Charger SRT with a prominent rear wing reminiscent of the Superbird era is among these offerings, and it’s likely to house a Hellcat-sourced Hemi under its hood.
For now, the Charger will not feature a Hemi, and that will hold true next week; however, the Super Bee will re-emerge in a new era.
