Like many individuals with discerning taste, I’m tired of vehicles in shades of grey. Sure—white, black, and grey cars appear sleek and stylish, but they’re rather dull. Most car manufacturers prefer to offer numerous variations of a few standard colors rather than provide something unique. However, that’s not the case with Toyota, which has just introduced an exciting new color for its TRD Pro off-road vehicles. This new hue is yellow and is named Honeycomb.

This fresh paint looks quite dynamic in a positive way. Its finish seems to present an eggshell or satin effect in the shadows, but it really stands out in the sunlight. Honeycomb is a bit more subdued than Toyota’s previous special color for the TRD Pro, WaveMaker, but it’s just as distinctive. I can’t recall any other yellow truck offhand, aside from that flashy Hummer special edition.

Honeycomb is offered on the 2027 Tundra and Sequoia TRD Pro, while the Tacoma and 4Runner high-performance off-road models feature a slightly different shade called Hot Honey. Personally, I can’t see the difference between the two, but it must be significant enough for Toyota to give them different names. Both look appealing as the sun sets.

Toyota has also introduced some minor updates for the 2027 Tundra and Sequoia TRD Pro. While we’re still anticipating the full-fledged TRD Hammer pickup, the brand is enhancing the available models with standard red tow hooks and “Fox-enhanced” QS3 adjustable shocks. Additionally, the Tundra now offers those unique ISO-Dynamic seats with air shocks in the back.

Regardless of your opinion on the Honeycomb color range, it's hard to dispute that more colors on vehicles is a positive development. In terms of visibility, it’s still much more understated than the Solar Octane orange Toyota previously showcased.
