      The attorney representing Kimi Antonelli’s former manager states that the lawsuit against the championship frontrunner is not solely about financial compensation, but rather about acknowledgment for the years dedicated to advancing his career. Giovanni Minardi, son of the former Formula 1 team owner Gian Carlo Minardi, initiated the civil action in Bologna after Antonelli and his family ended their management agreement prior to his Formula 1 debut. The lawsuit revolves around claims of unpaid wages and damages due to the unilateral termination of the contract.

      "Giovanni Minardi has endured greatly because of the situation and sought legal recourse as it was his only remaining option," attorney Mattia Grassani informed Adnkronos. "After so many years of effort, sacrifice, and investment in the young driver, he deserved much more recognition."

      Grassani mentioned that the case has already involved multiple hearings over nearly a year in court. "This situation puts Giovanni Minardi and Kimi Antonelli in opposition to the parents, claiming there was a breach of the management contract granted to the underage Kimi and his parents several years ago." He continued, "When the driver transitioned to Mercedes, the Antonelli team believed the conditions to continue were no longer satisfied, which led to the dispute."

      The attorney confirmed that there had been efforts to achieve an amicable resolution outside of court, but Minardi turned down the proposed terms as they were deemed "unacceptable." "Sadly, a compromise was not reached," Grassani remarked. "This matter is not limited to financial aspects, but is also fundamentally about respect and principles."

      He further emphasized that Minardi had supported Antonelli long before he became one of the most promising young drivers in motorsport. "Giovanni Minardi saw potential in a then-unknown driver, backed him from the age of eight, and played a crucial role in the career he is now building, initially connecting him with Ferrari and later with Mercedes." Grassani characterized the decision to pursue legal action as "a necessary choice" after other options failed.
