Esteban Ocon: We need more speed
The stage in Hungary became the fifth consecutive one in which Haas did not earn points. The team's best result at the Hungaroring was Esteban Ocon's sixteenth place. Oliver Berman finished nineteenth after five penalty seconds were added to his time for ignoring blue flags.
Esteban Ocon (16th): "I had another good start and almost reached the top ten, which was very good, but then I couldn't keep the competitors behind. Unfortunately, the facts show that we are not fast enough to hold them off.
The tires degraded a lot, so we need to think about how to make the car more efficient. We are waiting for updates, and I hope they will change the situation – the team is working on it.
This weekend had many positive moments for me. I am pleased that I was able to get the most out of the car, and we were stable from Friday to Sunday. Now we just need more speed."
Oliver Berman (19th): "As we expected, it was a long day. The lack of speed in qualifying was exacerbated in race mode due to severe sliding and tire wear. Additionally, I just couldn't overtake and got stuck behind slow cars.
We need to understand why things went well in Spa but were bad this weekend, as the feelings from the car in Hungary were completely opposite, and I completely lost confidence in the car. There wasn't a single lap this weekend where the car handled well, so we need to figure out why that happened and analyze everything carefully."
