Seven turns of the Hungaroring are named after drivers.

As part of the celebration of the 40th anniversary of the Hungarian Grand Prix at the Hungaroring, new official names for all 14 corners have been announced. Seven of them are named after drivers. The selection process began a year ago when fans were invited to suggest their options. These suggestions were then reviewed by a group of experts – and this weekend they received official status.

Corners of the Hungaroring named after drivers:

The 1st corner is named Piquet,

      the 2nd – Hamilton,

      the 4th – Mansell,

      the 11th – Alesi,

      the 12th – Schumacher,

      the 13th – Senna,

the 14th – Szisz (in honor of Ferenc Szisz, the winner of the French Grand Prix in Le Mans in 1906 – the first Grand Prix in the history of motorsport).
