George Russell: This time I need a summer break.

      George Russell started the 2026 season as a favorite in the title fight, but after eleven rounds, he is in third place in the individual standings, trailing his teammate Kimi Antonelli by 59 points. The British Mercedes driver acknowledged that the summer break has come at just the right time.

      George Russell: "The problems continue, and the whole team is feeling it just as much as I am. Everyone is very frustrated with how the situation is unfolding.

      We need to figure out the reasons and understand if we are doing something wrong that leads to these problems. Yes, we are not the only ones having issues, but it feels like this happens to me much more often than to others.

      I hope that in the second half of the season, luck will finally turn in my favor. I don't wish bad luck on anyone, but throughout my career, not just in Formula 1, I have never had a season like this.

      There is no point in getting upset about what you cannot control. The Hungarian race was ruined right from the start. I did everything right, the car allowed me to show good pace, but the final result was terrible. But everything that depended on me, I did as it should be.

      Usually, by the summer break, I don't feel like I need a rest. But right now, I really do need it."
