George Russell announced his engagement.

      Now it is clear why George Russell refused to answer questions about where he plans to spend his summer vacation in Hungary – the Mercedes driver clearly did not want any pesky paparazzi to cause him extra worry on one of the most important days of his life.

      Today, George announced his engagement to Carmen Montero Mundt, his Spanish girlfriend, who has been living in the UK for a long time. He did this without any unnecessary words, simply posting several eloquent photos taken during a romantic dinner on social media.

      It seems everything took place somewhere on the French Riviera – at least the video that George shared the day before, which we have already mentioned, was filmed in the Mediterranean town of Villefranche-sur-Mer.

      Russell and Montero Mundt have been dating since 2020, and like many racing drivers' partners, she regularly appears at the Grand Prix. Carmen received her higher education in the UK, holds a degree in economics, and works in the financial sector, but she also has her own cosmetics brand.

      Undoubtedly, the 28-year-old driver, known for his thorough approach to everything, had long been preparing for the event that took place the day before, but he announced it today.

      "Undoubtedly, I see my future with Carmen," George confessed in a June interview with the London newspaper The Times. "In general, I hope that when the time comes, we will formalize our relationship. It won't happen next week, but it won't be longer than five years to wait."

      One of the first to react to the news shared by Russell was Kimi Antonelli, his teammate: "Buddy, congratulations to both of you!"

      Of course, comments or just emojis in the form of hearts and other relevant symbols were left by the Mercedes team, many other Formula 1 drivers, and representatives of the international press working in the paddock.
