Lucas di Grassi says goodbye to Formula E

      This weekend, the final stage of the 13th season of Formula E will take place in the capital of the United Kingdom, and it promises to be very interesting, as its two races will determine the fate of the title, which is still contested by several drivers.

      Formally, there are nine of them, meaning that mathematically, Jake Dennis, who leads the individual standings, Mitch Evans, Pascal Wehrlein, Oliver Rowland, Edoardo Mortara, António Félix da Costa, Nick Cassidy, Nico Müller, and Nyck de Vries all have a chance to win the World Championship in electric car racing. However, of course, only the first four can be considered real contenders.

      Lucas di Grassi is not on this list, but during the London weekend, he will also receive media attention, as the Brazilian veteran of Formula E prepares to start for the last time in his career.

      "This weekend in London will be the last race of my professional career," writes the 41-year-old di Grassi in a touching message to fans. "After 30 years dedicated to racing, it's hard to find the words to describe how much this journey has meant to me.

      Motorsport has been my life since childhood. It has brought both incredibly joyful and difficult moments, as there have been victories and defeats; I have learned many lessons, made numerous friends, and the memories of this will stay with me forever.

      Formula E holds a completely special place in this story. I have been part of this championship from the very beginning. I have witnessed how it evolved from an idea that many doubted into one of the most interesting and innovative series in the world, characterized by intense competition.

      Over the years, Formula E has become not just a championship in which I competed – it is my family. And I am grateful to everyone who has been my companion on this journey – teams, engineers, mechanics, partners, rivals, the people working behind the scenes of events, and everyone who has become my friends.

      I especially want to thank the fans – for supporting me and pushing me to constantly strive for high results! Racing only makes sense when it is interesting to the public.

      After the London season finale, I will still have time to truly reflect on the memories of what has happened over these 30 years. But for now, there is one final stage ahead, when I will wear my racing helmet for the last time. And I intend to enjoy every second of these last races. See you in London!"

      Lucas di Grassi races for the Lola Yamaha ABT team, currently holding a distant 17th place in the individual standings, but it is symbolic that just over a month ago, towards the end of his career, he won the second race of the double-header in Shanghai.
