Slow turns remain a weak point for McLaren.

      Although Lando Norris won at the twisty Hungaroring circuit, which is not known for high speeds, Andrea Stella believes that the behavior of the MCL40 in slow corners remains a weak point for McLaren. For the Hungarian Grand Prix, the Woking team prepared a fairly extensive package of technical innovations, allowing them to aim for the highest results, as Norris won the qualifying session, and for almost the entire first half of the race, his teammate, Oscar Piastri, was in the lead, but ultimately retired due to technical issues. However, according to the McLaren team principal, in the process of further refining the chassis, attention needs to be paid to a very specific aspect: "We have improved in some areas, and at least the results in Hungary indicate that in terms of pace, we are already quite comparable to Ferrari. However, the car's behavior at low speeds requires further improvements. To some extent, the efficiency of the MCL40 has increased due to speed on the straights, but I believe this is aided by the Mercedes power unit. The updates presented in Hungary are just part of a modernization cycle for the car, which is divided into several stages. So far, we have only implemented the first part, and we are preparing several more innovations for the upcoming races."
