Formula E: Porsche will style the cars in an 80s theme

      This upcoming weekend, the final of the 13th season of Formula E will take place in London, but it will also be the last race for third-generation electric vehicles (GEN3).

      The Porsche 99X Electric has already won five titles and has become the most successful GEN3 car, with Pascal Wehrlein currently in 3rd place in the individual standings, and he has a very real chance of becoming the world champion again, just like two years ago.

      However, Andretti, represented by Jake Dennis, a British driver leading the individual standings, is a customer team of Porsche using electric vehicles with the same powertrains, so the likelihood that the German technology will end up being the best at the end of the season is even greater.

      Porsche's success story in motorsport began 75 years ago – the company traces its history back to its participation in the 1951 "24 Hours of Le Mans," when French drivers Auguste Veuillet and Edmond Mouche won in the S1.1 class with the Porsche 356 SL.

      In honor of this anniversary, the Porsche factory team decided to paint their electric vehicles in a rather unusual way: their design is inspired by the 1980s, when cars built in Stuttgart successfully competed in various events, including victories at Le Mans and in the Paris-Dakar rally raid.

      Additionally, the London season finale will have a charitable component: for every lap completed by the two electric vehicles of the Porsche factory team on the track, the German company will donate 400 euros to charities that help children suffering from serious illnesses. For the previous stages of the season, the total amount directed to charity has already reached 390,000 euros.
