Honda hopes to compete for points in Zandvoort.

Aston Martin and Honda have repeatedly talked about plans to bring an updated power unit to the Dutch Grand Prix. Today, Honda Racing's press service announced some details about the refined RA626H engine, which, as the Japanese company hopes, will allow Aston Martin to compete for points in Zandvoort.

"In the first race of the second half of the season after the summer break, Honda will present the updated power unit and, together with the Aston Martin team, will continue to work on improving its efficiency," the published statement said. "The updated RA626H power unit has gained additional power thanks to improvements to the internal combustion engine, as well as minor enhancements to the battery and other components.

Honda made the most of the available budget for engine upgrades within the ADUO framework and the time for bench testing to enhance the power unit's efficiency.

Before the summer break at the Hungarian Grand Prix, Aston Martin introduced many technical innovations for the AMR26, which confirmed the correctness of the chosen development direction and the effectiveness of the upgrades.

The team has also prepared innovations for the Dutch Grand Prix, and now all attention is focused on the results. The combination of a more competitive AMR26 and the second specification Honda power unit should provide an additional effect and allow the team to engage in the battle in the midfield and fight for points."
