I can't help but adore this truck. Chances are you feel the same way, given that you clicked on this link. It’s a crew-cab 1986 Chevrolet Kodiak equipped with an enclosed hauler bed, perfect for transporting your prized cars in style. This vehicle has certainly had its share of exposure, and if you're quick, it could very well end up in your driveway next.
I first spotted this rig on Finnegan’s Garage while browsing YouTube one night, and it’s now up for sale on Bring a Trailer. The seller reportedly acquired it from Mike Finnegan, known for Roadkill and Finnegan’s Garage, back in 2022. Even without its automotive celebrity pedigree, the heavy-duty Chevy would still be impressive.
Is This The Best Worst Ramp Truck Road Trip Ever?
The dimensions of this truck are astonishing. Its wheelbase measures an impressive 254 inches. For context, that’s nearly large enough to fit an entire Silverado HD crew cab long bed inside, from front to back. Plus, you could easily accommodate one of those trucks in the Kodiak's cargo area, boasting 300 inches of interior space. There’s no need to fret about headroom either, as the box stands at 11 feet and 8 inches tall—not counting the roof-mounted AC unit.
The cab is an extended four-door design, providing ample space for you and your passengers, not just your gear. With captain's chairs in the front and a bench seat in the rear, there’s enough room for everyone. Of course, you might forget anyone else is there as you shift through the gears of the five-speed Spicer manual gearbox, complemented by the Eaton two-speed rear end.

This hefty vehicle is powered by a 10.4-liter Caterpillar 3208T. The 'T' at the end is significant, indicating “turbo.” Naturally, such a large-displacement diesel V8 is capable of heavy-duty work, and the added boost certainly helps. It delivers a modest output of 250 horsepower.
Before either the seller or Finnegan got behind the wheel, this beast reportedly belonged to hot-rod designer Boyd Coddington, as well as Jim DeFrank from California Car Cover. The latter utilized it as a promotional vehicle, and some images from its days as a storefront display are included in the listing. It’s hard to imagine a better (or louder) advertisement for your business than a mobile 38-foot billboard.

This truck truly speaks for itself. You either love it and want to make it yours, or you don’t. Today, August 18, is your last opportunity to purchase it, unless it doesn’t meet the reserve, and you make an irresistible offer.
