Aston Martin is awaiting Alonso's decision on the contract.

      The race weekend in Zandvoort began with the news of Max Verstappen's contract extension with Red Bull Racing until the end of 2030. However, another important question in the driver market remains open – Fernando Alonso's plans for the next season.

      Aston Martin's racing director Mike Crack stated that the team is awaiting Fernando's decision and hopes that he will continue to compete in 2027.

      Mike Crack: "Negotiations have been ongoing for many months. Fernando has said from the beginning that he will make a decision in the summer. I think we will know his final decision in the coming weeks. Right now, we are waiting for Fernando's decision, and then we will act accordingly.

      As for rumors about other drivers, our position has always been unchanged – we want to continue our collaboration with Fernando. As I mentioned, we are quite confident that we can reach an agreement. At the same time, we must respect his desire to make the decision on his own, so we are waiting for his response."
