Kimi Antonelli confirmed that he will receive a penalty in Monza.

By the time of the Dutch stage of the championship, Kimi Antonelli approached as the leader of the individual standings, ahead of Lewis Hamilton by 50 points. However, it is unlikely that he will find it easy to maintain this advantage, let alone extend it, as he will inevitably receive a penalty for replacing the internal combustion engine at his home Grand Prix in Italy, which will be the fifth one since the start of the season.

Kimi Antonelli: "We will do it in Monza, as it is one of those tracks where overtaking is easiest. Of course, this is my home race, but right now I am primarily thinking about the championship situation. Since at some point in the season we inevitably have to receive a penalty, I had to weigh everything and understand where I would have the best chances to recover and show a good result.

That’s why we chose Monza; it definitely suits this situation the best, and we will do our best to have a good race and please the Italian fans.

Speaking of the summer break, I really needed it, although I only allowed myself to rest for a couple of days – I was in Sardinia and went to the local karting track. However, I wanted to go there on the first day, but I managed to hold off for another day. Overall, I tried to disconnect from everything and slept until one in the afternoon.

However, on the first day of the training camp in Germany, where I was preparing for the Dutch Grand Prix, it was tough; I couldn't concentrate at all. On the very first day, I took ice baths and then trained in the pool. I don’t know, maybe I relaxed too much during the break, but that morning was truly hard; I felt like a zombie!

But I must say that all the efforts paid off, so now I have a fighting spirit, and I am ready to get to work on the track.

Our team has not introduced any noticeable technical innovations since the Canadian stage of the season, while McLaren and Ferrari are intensively upgrading their equipment. In the Netherlands, we will also present only minor updates that will not provide a significant advantage.

A more substantial set of new parts will be ready in a few races, and we hope that this will allow us to regain the advantage we had at the beginning of the year. In any case, we have a fast car, so I have good expectations. I hope we can fully utilize all the opportunities we will have this weekend, especially since the program includes a sprint."
