If you own a classic Jeep and require parts, you should make your way to Texas—immediately. Jeep Heritage, a parts and restoration business located in Johnson City, approximately 50 miles west of Austin, has been gathering parts for many years. The company is relocating, but before it does, it is offering those parts at a 50% discount from their usual prices.
There is a wide selection available. According to its website, Jeep Heritage claims to have parts sourced from over 150 donor vehicles. These parts include everything from complete frames and axles to smaller components like trim pieces, gauges, glass, and grilles, which can derail a project. Unlike your local salvage yard, the parts are organized, so you won't waste time searching for a vehicle similar to yours, only to discover that the specific part you need has already been removed.
The downside is that you must visit Jeep Heritage’s facility in person. The company does not ship parts. Additionally, you cannot simply arrive at any time, as access to the parts inventory is by appointment only, and is available only until August 29. Jeep Heritage primarily focuses on the SJ Jeeps—Wagoneer, Cherokee, and J-Truck—so most of the available parts will likely pertain to those models.
Jeep Heritage is also the entity behind Vigilante 4x4, which produces high-end Jeep restomods, like a $260,000 Scrambler featuring modern Hemi power. It’s reassuring to know that the OEM parts removed from those restomods aren’t just discarded.
Large collections of parts like the one this company has built are notable and can serve as a valuable resource for automotive enthusiasts. However, safeguarding such a significant inventory from unforeseen events can be more challenging, as well as keeping track of everything. Hopefully, Jeep Heritage’s new location will facilitate that.
