Peres: Budkovski can give Cadillac a new boost.
During the summer break, there were changes at Cadillac – Marcin Budkowski replaced Graham Loudon as team principal. At the FIA press conference in Zandvoort, Sergio Perez commented on this change.
Sergio Perez: "Graham did a tremendous job and together with General Motors and Dan Tauri, laid the foundation for Cadillac to be in the positions it is in now. He will always be a part of the team's history, and I wish him all the best in the future.
Speaking of Marcin, the arrival of a new leader is always interesting. He has his own perspective, and this can give the team a new impetus. I haven't communicated with him much yet, but I believe this is indeed the right time for change.
Even in its debut season, Cadillac is showing that it wants to develop the team and move forward as quickly as possible. I hope that with the new leadership, this can be achieved even faster.
It's currently difficult to highlight any one area that we should prioritize. We have a new team, so there is plenty of work to do in almost every area.
The leader can look at each department from the outside and, drawing on his experience, help us move forward. We expect Marcin to help us take the next step. I think everyone in the team wants this."
When asked if he would continue to race for Cadillac in 2027, Sergio said: "When I joined the team, I signed a two-year contract. However, I want this project to be long-term for me. When you start everything from scratch, you realize that building a competitive team takes a lot of time.
I really like it here, and I want to be a part of Cadillac for a long time. I think we will discuss my contract and future plans later."
