Lewis Hamilton: Max is performing in a great team.

In Zandvoort, seven-time world champion Lewis Hamilton commented on Max Verstappen's decision to extend his contract with Red Bull Racing until the end of 2030. When journalists asked the British Ferrari driver if this could be considered good news for all of Formula 1, he replied: "I don't know, maybe. Why not? I can't say I have a strong opinion on this, and I don't think it changes much. I believe Max is in a great team. He has been with Red Bull for a long time, and the team is only getting stronger. Obviously, it is a really great place to work. If you look at the history of drivers who changed teams, some of them switched too often. Sometimes it was beneficial, but sometimes it wasn't. So there is always a reason to stay in the team where you feel comfortable. It's his choice, and I don't think he made a bad one."

Zandvoort is one of the few tracks where Lewis Hamilton has not won a Formula 1 race. On Thursday, Lewis shared that he will try to change that. Lewis Hamilton: "I've won at almost all the other tracks, but as far as I remember, I've never won in Zandvoort. So of course, I want to change that. It motivates me a lot. Zandvoort is just an incredible track, and the fans create an amazing atmosphere here. What makes this event special are Max's fans, who support him throughout the weekend and create a unique atmosphere. But for me, this is a track that I haven't truly conquered in Formula 1 yet, so I will definitely try to win this weekend."
