Stella: Piastri's problems are of a technical nature.

      Many say that Oscar Piastri has "burned out" or is experiencing psychological issues, which is why he is not as successful as in the first half of last season, but McLaren team principal Andrea Stella thinks otherwise.

      Andrea Stella: "Last year we already saw that when the car lacks grip on the track, as it did in Mexico or Austin, Oscar has to adapt his driving style, his mindset, and approach to the race. This requires certain efforts, causing him to lose a couple of tenths per lap.

      The point is that in such a situation he cannot act instinctively, as he would if everything met expectations, but is forced to process information. This is a case where you have to adapt your natural style to the characteristics of the car.

      The issues Oscar is facing are not psychological but purely technical. In Zandvoort, Oscar was showing good lap times, but two factors affected his race result.

      Firstly, and this is the team's responsibility, when we pitted to respond to Russell's actions, we effectively lost position due to a slow pit stop, and this is the team's fault, not Oscar's.

      Secondly, in the second stint on the Hard tires, we couldn't get the tires into their working range. They remained in a very low grip mode, which was not observed in the first stint. Clearly, there are several areas we need to work on.

      I want to add that currently, the results of at least three teams differ by just a tenth, and when something is not working optimally, it can lead to a serious loss of positions. If your car is lacking in any way, you can end up sixth.

      The competition is very tough. We need to continue working with Oscar, utilizing all opportunities, and I am pleased with the progress I saw this weekend. I am confident that in the remaining part of the season, he will be even more noticeable."
