Official: Norris has signed an extension with McLaren, keeping him with the team until the conclusion of 2030.

      "I’m really happy to be signing a new contract."

      Lando Norris, the 2025 Formula 1 Drivers’ World Champion, has renewed his contract with the McLaren Mastercard Formula 1 Team through at least 2030, with an option for multiple additional years. Lando, 26, hailing from Somerset, United Kingdom, is a product of the team, having joined McLaren nine years ago via their junior program in 2017 as a Test and Simulator Driver. He was elevated to a race seat in 2019 and has since participated in 163 Grands Prix for McLaren, more than any driver in the team's history. During this time, he has achieved 18 Pole positions, 48 podium finishes, 13 victories, two Constructors’ Championships, and the Drivers’ World Championship.

      This announcement, made by Lando at the McLaren Technology Centre during the annual family and friends open day, ensures greater stability for the team. It follows Oscar Piastri’s contract extension in March of last year, while both CEO Zak Brown and Team Principal Andrea Stella have signed long-term contracts in the last two years.

      In addition to confirming his commitment to McLaren for at least the next four years, Lando will receive an MCL39, the car he drove during his 2025 World Championship winning season. This gesture serves as a lasting reminder of his contributions, especially his role in helping secure the team’s second consecutive Constructors’ title in 2025, as well as becoming McLaren's first Formula 1 Drivers’ World Champion since 2008.
