Sergio Perez: Cadillac has stalled in its development.

      In the early races of the season, the new Cadillac team regularly outpaced their rivals from Aston Martin, but gradually the situation changed, and at the moment the MAC-26 car is the slowest. Sergio Perez stated that in the last races the team has stalled in its development, and the dismissal of Graham Loudon from the position of team principal is partly related to this.

      "Honestly, the last few races have been disappointing," Sergio Perez said in the Beyond the Grid podcast. "It was very unpleasant to see that we stopped developing the car and are no longer improving.

      For a new team, everything should be the opposite – we should constantly be getting better, but in the last races, I had the feeling that we were standing still. We had to take another look at how we work and what needs to be done to change the situation. We are a new team, so we constantly have to learn something.

      I think we haven't improved as much as we expected. We probably gained about a second, although we were hoping to gain around two. Right now, the most important thing is to understand why we didn't gain that second second and why we couldn't improve in several areas at once.

      I see the areas where we can improve. If we can increase downforce, improve the car's handling, and a whole range of parameters, it will turn out that we are not that far behind other teams.

      Right now we are at the very back of the pack, but even gaining half a second or a second will completely change our position. I feel that we really have the opportunity to make up that time. For a new team, this is quite a realistic task."
