Officially: Alpine has extended the contract with Colapinto.

At Alpine, one of the few remaining vacancies in the championship has been closed, extending the contract with Franco Colapinto – the team lineup will not change in 2027.

Flavio Briatore, team principal: “We are very pleased to confirm the team lineup for 2027: Franco will stay with the team, as will Pierre.

I believe that stability is very important. We are now clear on our drivers, but while this is an important part of the overall picture, the most important thing for us is to develop and build a fast car. This is our main priority.

This year we have witnessed how Franco has truly grown and become a magnificent driver. His results, especially in Miami and Montreal, confirmed what I already knew: Franco deserves a place in our team and in Formula 1. I am confident that Franco and Pierre will continue to deliver fantastic results on the track, and the whole team will tirelessly strive for us to compete for the lead and win.”

Franco Colapinto: “I am very happy to stay with the team in 2027. I am happy here! This year we have made significant progress compared to last season. There is still much to do, and I know that the team is working hard to improve efficiency and continuously enhance the car.

Our long-term goals are clear – to compete with the best and win. I am grateful to the team, Flavio, and Steve for the trust placed in me as one of the drivers with whom the team plans to develop in the future. I look forward to how everything will unfold, and I will primarily focus on my work on the track.”
