Norris: Other teams showed interest in me as well.

      Lando Norris acknowledged that other Formula 1 teams had shown interest in collaborating with him, but he links his future only with McLaren.

      On Saturday during the "Open Day" held at the McLaren Technology Centre in Woking, the reigning world champion personally announced that he would remain with the team at least until 2030. Moreover, his new contract includes an extension option.

      "Certain teams have shown interest," Lando told BBC Sport in an interview. "But I don't want to move anywhere, I don't want to race for another team and spend time with other people. Perhaps that's why the decision was one of the easiest in my entire Formula 1 career.

      Contract negotiations began more than four months ago, but they took place behind closed doors in a very calm manner. I have been racing for McLaren for a long time, and together we have achieved significant success. Of course, I feel that the team still believes in me, and I believe in it.

      This creates very close ties between all the people who work at McLaren. I want to believe that these ties will remain as strong until the moment I truly retire from Formula 1. I know that this is still a long way off, and I really don't want to think about it.

      Despite a difficult start to the season, I believe that the team is in great shape, and that together we can overcome any difficulties."
