Frederik Vesti does not part with his dream of Formula 1.

Frederik Vesti, the reserve driver for Mercedes, hopes that one day he will also have the opportunity to start a Formula 1 race – he shared this in an interview with the Singapore newspaper The Strait Times.

This weekend, the 24-year-old Dane spent time in the island city-state in Southeast Asia, where he participated in a two-day marketing program for Adidas, the sponsor of the factory team of the Stuttgart company, met with fans, signed autographs, and interacted with the local press.

"As a reserve driver, I am probably in the best position of all possible options, as I work alongside George Russell, Kimi Antonelli, and Toto Wolff," Frederik, who has been with Mercedes since 2023 when he became the vice-champion of Formula 2, shared. "They have all achieved a lot during their careers, and it is incredibly joyful to see how successfully Kimi is performing this year, even though he was a teenager not long ago.

All of this is great and makes me dream even more. Although sometimes being the third driver is not easy, as I constantly observe Kimi and George, I am also proud of our team's results this year and all the work we have done for it.

I have worked my whole life for this, as when I was 15, my father had to sell our house (so Frederik could pursue motorsport), which speaks to the determination of my entire family. We spent everything we had and directed all our energy towards me reaching this level. It would be foolish not to dream that I could make it to Formula 1."

As part of the Singapore weekend, Frederik Vesti also participated in demonstration runs in the Mercedes W04, a car from 2013, which took place today on an improvised track laid out on the famous Orchard Road, where shopping and entertainment centers are concentrated. Additionally, he drove VIP guests of Adidas in a Mercedes-AMG sports car.
