Nike targets a comeback to Formula 1.
Cadillac is engaging in "constant dialogue" with Nike.
Nike is reportedly considering a potential re-entry into Formula 1, as per Sports Business Journal. The American sportswear company has allegedly been in discussions with Formula One Management regarding a possible sponsorship and licensing deal, with Nike executives also believed to have attended the Miami GP in May. No agreement has been finalized, and both Nike and F1 have chosen not to comment to SBJ.
Nevertheless, there are indications of increased interaction with Cadillac. Valtteri Bottas and Sergio Perez have been seen in Cadillac promotional materials wearing Nike shoes, and team CEO Dan Towriss, along with his wife, received custom Cadillac-branded Nike Dunk Low sneakers in Miami. According to a source, Cadillac keeps up a "constant dialogue" with Nike, although there has been no formal agreement announced.
Nike previously had a prominent presence in F1 through Michael Schumacher, who endorsed the brand at Ferrari from 1996 to 2002. A comeback would position Nike in a competitive F1 apparel market, alongside brands like Adidas, Puma, Castore, and New Era. SBJ notes that any potential agreement with F1 could involve both sponsorship and licensing components, though it is uncertain how this would align with F1's current partnership with Puma.
