Bottas is 'prepared' for 2027 despite the upheaval at Cadillac.

      Valtteri Bottas is confident that he will continue with Cadillac in 2027, despite the team's ongoing struggles and leadership changes. The Finnish driver, who has just turned 37, expressed that he is not concerned about being replaced in the immediate future. "Not in the near future, no," he is quoted as saying. "I’m still prepared for next year, but eventually we’ll discuss what comes after 2027, although that’s not imminent."

      As of now, Cadillac is the only team yet to earn a point in 2026. This disappointing start has already led to Graeme Lowdon losing his position as team principal, with Marcin Budkowski stepping in. Bottas noted that this level of change caught him off guard. "I respect the decision, and as with any transition, time will show which changes are good and which are bad," he stated. "I can’t foresee the future, and I don’t know Marcin well yet. I’ve collaborated a lot with Graeme in the past."

      However, he acknowledged that change is essential. "Something definitely needs to be altered. Some of the issues we’ve faced have persisted for quite a while, but I didn’t anticipate such significant changes," Bottas admitted. "I actually thought there would be more developments at the factory, but that’s just how it is."

      Bottas also mentioned that the drivers might be somewhat disconnected from the larger restructuring efforts. "We drivers don’t always notice what needs to be changed," he noted. "We concentrate on driving, performance, and providing feedback. We’re not in the business of building a team, that’s not our role."

      Cadillac will once again have Colton Herta participate in Friday practice at Monza.
