Colapinto discussed his penalty with the FIA president.

      After the finish of the race in Zandvoort, Franco Colapinto and his main sponsor Mercado Libre criticized the decisions of the stewards of the event, who penalized the Argentine Alpine driver for overtaking Yuki Tsunoda under double yellow flags.

      On Thursday in Monza, Franco said that he discussed the incident with FIA President Mohammed ben Sulayem and considers the matter closed, although he does not agree with the penalty.

      Franco Colapinto: "Two days ago we talked with Mohammed. He was in Argentina, so it was great to see him.

      At the meeting were the President of Argentina and the President of the FIA, and it was nice to see such interest from the FIA and Formula 1. It's great that they understand and see the significance of returning to the championship calendar for Argentina. It would be wonderful to see our event back in Formula 1.

      We are very grateful to the FIA for taking the time to come and hold this meeting. It is important for the country, for our sport, and hopefully for the future. So I am glad they came.

      As for the penalty, that topic is already in the past. You can read the regulations – the stewards do their job and follow the rules. Personally, I still hold the same opinion as I did in Zandvoort. Of course, we will still discuss this, as we always talk about various things.

      Perhaps we will meet with some of the stewards. I think they are always ready to talk as well. I understand their position, and if you read the regulations, the penalty is in accordance with the rules.

      Personally, I do not agree with it, but that is part of our job, and we are not the stewards. Right now, the main thing is the event in Monza and the desire to show everything we are capable of here."
