Kimi Antonelli is ready to attack at full strength in Monza.

      Kimi Antonelli will lose positions at the start of the Italian Grand Prix this Sunday. Speaking to the press in Monza ahead of the race weekend, the Mercedes driver said that he plans to attack as hard as he can during the race and will try to finish in fifth place.

      "Considering that I'm starting last, I'll have to attack with all my might," says the championship leader. "Of course, I need to think smart as well. I'm not going to act like it's qualifying at the first braking point on Sunday, otherwise, I'll just cause an accident!

      I don't want to jinx it, but I have nothing to lose. The goal for this weekend is to gain as many points as possible while keeping common sense in mind. But the mindset will be as aggressive as possible, so I'll try to make up as many positions as I can.

      Of course, it's unpleasant to receive such a big penalty at a home Grand Prix, but ultimately, the team thinks about the championship as a whole, and Monza is one of the best tracks for changing the power unit. So it's better to do it now and hope to avoid problems later. I think this will allow me to enjoy racing even more and think less about the pressure. This is definitely a positive aspect.

      This weekend, we will slightly change our usual approach to work and focus only on race settings. We'll see how it goes. I think fifth place is quite achievable, but of course, it all depends on how the race unfolds."
