The FIA issued a warning due to the heat in Monza.
Before the start of the race weekend in Monza, the FIA issued an official warning about the hot weather – according to the forecast, the air temperature will exceed +33...34 degrees for all three days of the race weekend.
"In accordance with Article B1.5.10 of the Formula 1 regulations, having received a forecast from the official meteorological service indicating that the heat index at this stage will exceed +31C at any point during the weekend, a high temperature hazard is declared," the published FIA document states.
Such a warning means that a driver cooling system is mandatory. In fact, drivers are given the choice: to wear a cooling vest connected to the cooling system with flexible tubes or to place a ballast weighing 5 kg in the car, equivalent to the weight of the cooling system.
