Liam Lawson is set to compete alongside Max Verstappen at the Italian Grand Prix in Monza, while Isack is making positive strides in his rehabilitation after his wrist injury during the summer break. The team is carefully monitoring his recovery and will avoid taking any unnecessary risks with his return, wishing him a quick recovery.
Max Verstappen commented, "It was disappointing not to finish the race in Zandvoort, but it was still special to see the fans one last time and thank them for all the memories. We are gearing up for Monza after a reset, and it’s hard to say how competitive we will be there. There are several areas we need to improve on to get closer to the pace and ensure we have the right car balance. Monza is one of my favorite circuits; I enjoy its old-school, high-speed layout and always look forward to seeing the passionate fans. Historically, we have performed well there, so we'll see what we can achieve."
Liam Lawson added, "It’s encouraging to hear that Isack is recovering well and will be back in the car soon, but I'm excited to have another weekend with the team. Zandvoort provided me with a valuable initial reference in the car, and having had a full Sprint weekend gives me a better understanding of the car and what I need from it. Monza is a completely different track with new challenges, but I'm looking forward to building on last weekend's experience and seeing what we can accomplish."
Ayumu Iwasa will participate in FP1 at Monza, driving Max's car. "I’m really happy to be back with the team for FP1 in Monza. It was a wonderful experience driving for the team in the practice session in Barcelona, and a great opportunity to learn and adapt to the new regulations. It's exciting to put what we practice on the simulators into action and see how my preparation holds up on track. It’s a fantastic opportunity to drive an F1 car, and I can't wait to take on the Monza circuit!"
