Laurent Mekis: We are satisfied with the decision of the Court of Appeal.
Today's verdict from the FIA Appeals Court, unprecedented in its own way, will be commented on for a long time in the world of motorsport. Of course, Laurent Mekies and the entire Red Bull Racing team are very pleased that Isaac Hadjar has been restored to 3rd place following the Monaco Grand Prix. For the French driver, this is at least some consolation, as he has to miss the second consecutive race of the season due to injury. "We are very pleased with the Appeals Court's decision to restore Isaac's podium; this is very important for him," said the head of Red Bull Racing on Sky Sports. "But we also filed a protest because we believe that restoring justice is very important for our entire sport. It is very important that there is consistency in Formula 1 racing. We believe that thanks to this precedent, in the future, a similar approach where the results of a race are questioned post-factum will not become a habit, so that decisions that cannot be contested in principle are never reviewed again. And that is exactly what happened, which was related to penalties for speeding in the pit lane. So this is good news, and we did see the final results of that race."
