Bottas: The gap is slightly smaller than in Zandvoort.

Valtteri Bottas completed both practice sessions in Monza on Friday driving the Cadillac car, while Sergio Perez only participated in one, as Colton Herta, the team's reserve driver, replaced him in the first session. However, the American was unlucky, as the car experienced technical issues with the hydraulic system. Nevertheless, the team stated that the program was fully completed.

Valtteri Bottas (21st): "Today we worked well, judging by the initial results we showed on the track. The gap has become somewhat smaller compared to what it was in Zandvoort, so our chances of competing with Aston Martin should be higher now. I think we are still faster on the straights.

But today I couldn't take full advantage of the slipstream, so I believe that during the preparation for qualifying we can still improve."

Sergio Perez (20th): "We immediately showed a confident pace, which is good, but we still need to put in the effort to close the gap, especially in the race. However, I believe we can still compete with Aston Martin.

Now it’s important to perform well in tomorrow's qualifying so that our starting position in the Sunday race is as high as possible."

Colton Herta (22nd in the first session): "Unfortunately, the practice ended quickly for me because the car had issues with the hydraulic system, while I would have liked to work on the track longer. We only managed to complete one fast lap, and when I slowed down on the next one, the malfunction appeared.

Despite this, every time I get behind the wheel, I learn something new and continue to adapt to the car, which requires a different driving style. I enjoy it, and I hope to have another opportunity to practice soon, and I will try to make the most of it."

Mark Hynes, team principal: "The day left mixed impressions. Unfortunately, due to the hydraulic system issue on Colton's car, he couldn't complete his program, and we apologize to him.

After the first practice, before Sergio got behind the wheel, we replaced the power unit on this car, and the Ferrari engineers need to find out what caused the malfunction.

As for Valtteri and Sergio, their second session went relatively smoothly, although there are several areas that need work. We have a few ideas, and we want to test them during the preparation for tomorrow's qualifying.

It was very hot today, which created additional difficulties for everyone, but we gathered useful information and will continue to work hard to prepare the cars for qualifying as best as we can."
