      By the start of the second practice in Monza, it was hot, the asphalt warmed up to 55 degrees – and the forecast promises similar conditions for all three days of the weekend. Sun. Clear sky. No rain. Spectators in the stands – there were quite a few already on Friday – hid under caps and umbrellas.

      Having determined the aerodynamic settings in the first practice, the drivers assessed the effectiveness and wear of the tires, while also dealing with energy distribution – it is much easier to spend the battery charge in Monza than to recharge it. In some teams, the program was divided between the drivers.

      Many made mistakes on braking, going off the track without consequences for the cars, but those laps were canceled.

      As Stroll exited the pits, he interfered with Norris, who was on a fast lap, forcing Lando to go onto the grass – in the evening, the stewards issued an official warning to Lance and his team.

      Leclerc spun out at the exit of the second chicane – he continued moving. Bortoleto ended the session early due to power unit issues.

      The best time was set by George Russell, completing a lap in 1:22.559.

      Throughout the season, teams do not work with settings for such low downforce as in Monza, almost everyone brought innovations to Italy and used wings of minimal configuration. The cars slid, tires locked in braking zones – adaptation was necessary.

      Several teams invited young drivers. In Red Bull Racing, Ayumu Iwasa took the wheel of Max Verstappen's car, in Cadillac, Colton Herta temporarily replaced Sergio Perez, in Williams, Luke Browning drove Alex Albon's car, and in Alpine, Paul Aron replaced Pierre Gasly.

      On the 19th minute, Herta stopped the car on the track due to hydraulic issues on command from the pits. A virtual safety car was announced, but the car could not be quickly moved off the track, and the session was stopped with red flags. The drivers interrupted their laps and returned to the pits. The pause lasted six minutes.

      In the first corner, Antonelli overtook Norris, who slowed down to let Mercedes pass, but Kimi did not make the turn and cut the corner, followed by Lando and Sainz, who were behind him.

      In the second half of the practice, the drivers switched to Medium and Soft, grip improved, and speeds increased.

      Alonso made a mistake at the exit of Lesmo 1, hitting the gravel with his left wheels, Berman and Sainz cut the first chicane – without consequences.

      The protocol was led by Charles Leclerc, completing a lap in 1:23.008.
